85. How do I change the Engagement Model to fit the new 5 areas?

In line with the Department for Education (DfE) reducing the Engagement Model areas from 7 to 5, TrackAble includes an enhancement that allows schools to reduce and rename engagement areas. This flexibility enables schools to align fully with the 2020 Engagement Model update, while also allowing customisation to suit individual school needs.

What This Means for Schools

Using TrackAble, schools can now:

  • Reduce engagement areas from 7 to 5

  • Rename engagement areas to match the DfE 2020 terminology

  • Choose whether to keep all 7 areas or adopt the new 5-area model

This ensures consistency with national guidance while maintaining local flexibility.

Reducing Engagement Areas from 7 to 5

Step-by-Step: Turning Off Unused Areas

  1. Go to Admin > Settings > Engagements

  2. Switch off the engagement fields you no longer require

  3. Save your changes

This will reduce the number of engagement areas available on the form.

Renaming Engagement Areas

Step-by-Step: Updating Terminology

  1. Go to Admin > Terminology

  2. Rename the engagement fields to match the DfE 2020 Engagement Model areas

  3. Click Save Changes

The Engagement Model form is now updated and ready for use.

Recommendation

✔️ Review DfE guidance before renaming engagement areas
✔️ Ensure all staff are informed of any changes to engagement terminology

Once changes are made, they will apply across TrackAble.
