77. How do I edit the levels in an assessment framework?
The Levels Tab in TrackAble allows administrators to manage the levels within an assessment framework. From this tab, you can rename, add, delete, and reorder levels. Correct level order is essential to ensure accurate assessment, progress tracking, and reporting.
What You Can Do in the Levels Tab
Using the Levels Tab, you can:
-
Rename existing levels
-
Add new levels
-
Delete levels
-
Reorder levels within the framework
You should always check that:
-
Levels are in the correct sequence
-
The Sort Order column runs sequentially (1, 2, 3, and so on)
Reordering Levels
To change the order of levels:
-
Locate the hand icon to the left of the level name
-
Click and hold the left mouse button
-
Drag the level into the required position
-
Release the mouse button to save the new order
The Sort Order column shows how levels are stored in the TrackAble database.
Fixing Incorrect Sort Order
If the Sort Order column shows all 0s or 1s after reordering:
-
Navigate to a different area in Admin
-
Return to Assessment Frameworks
-
Reopen the framework and check the Levels tab
The correct order should now display.
Resetting Level Order
If you have not reordered levels and the sort order is still incorrect:
-
Drag one level out of order
-
Drag it back into the correct position
This action will automatically reset the levels table.
Important Notes About Deleting Levels
⚠️ If you delete a level from an assessment framework:
-
You must also check the Subjects tab
-
Subject level mappings may need updating
We recommend reviewing subjects immediately after deleting a level.
