69. What are the different ways that I can complete assessment for my pupils?
TrackAble offers several flexible ways to complete assessments using Star Cards, allowing staff to record progress efficiently while matching classroom practice. Some features depend on user permissions and school assessment settings.
Completing a Single Star Card
This is the most common method for recording assessment.
Steps
-
Click the star to open the Star Card
-
Add:
-
Context
-
Evidence
-
A file or photo (if required)
-
-
Click Completed
-
Click Save
Tip:
If you open a Star Card and make no changes, simply click Cancel.
Completing Preceding Stars
Note: This feature must be enabled by your TrackAble Administrator.
Normally, stars are completed in sequence. However, if a pupil is already secure in a statement, you can complete multiple stars at once.
How It Works
-
Open a later star (for example, the 3rd star)
-
Click Completed and then Save
If earlier stars have not been completed, a message will appear:
-
Yes – completes all preceding stars
-
No – completes only the selected star
-
Cancel – returns you to the Star Card
Important:
-
Using this feature on the 2nd star will complete the 1st star, but not the 3rd
-
This feature can be used on any star, not just the last one
Allocating a Star Card to Multiple Pupils or a Whole Class
Note:
-
This feature must be enabled by your TrackAble Administrator
-
It only works on a new, unused Star Card (no evidence or updates added yet)

Add your assessment as normal
This is ideal for recording shared learning activities.
Completing Multiple Statements at Once
Note: This feature must be enabled by your TrackAble Administrator.
How to Complete Multiple Statements
-
Click the number at the start of each statement to highlight it
-
Click Complete Statements
-
Amend the date if required
-
Click Save
Using This Feature for Baselining

Change the date to 30th August
-
This creates a new start-of-year baseline
Adding Evidence to Multiple Star Cards
-
After selecting statements, click Add Evidence
-
Evidence will be added to all selected Star Cards at once
If you change your mind, click Cancel.
