61. How do I set targets for the next academic year?
From 1st June, TrackAble allows you to begin setting pupil targets for the next academic year. Before targets can be added, term dates and target settings must be configured correctly by an Administrator.
Step 1: Add Your Term Dates
Correct term dates are essential for targets to work as expected.
Add a New Term
-
Go to Admin > Lists > Terms
-
Click Add Term
-
Enter the term name
Important naming rules:
-
Terms must be added sequentially
-
The first term should be Autumn Term
-
The word “Term” must be included
-
Examples:
-
Autumn Term
-
Spring Term
-
Summer Term
-
Autumn Term 1, Autumn Term 2 (for six-term models)
-
-
Select the Academic Year
-
Choose the correct Academic Year from the drop-down list
Set Term Start and End Dates
-
Click into the Start Date field
-
To change the year, click on the month header
-
Use the arrow controls to select the correct year
-
Choose the correct month and date
Repeat the same steps for the End Date.
Important:
-
Term dates must not overlap
-
One term cannot end and start on the same date as another term
Step 2: Enable Future Targets
Once term dates are in place, future targets must be switched on.
-
Click the Admin cog
-
Select Settings
-
Click Targets
-
Switch Future Targets on
-
Click Save Changes
Step 3: Set Your Targets
With future targets enabled, you can now begin adding targets.
-
Open a pupil’s Assessment Screen
-
Click Targets
The Targets page will now default to the next academic year.
Target Options
You can:
-
Set targets for a single pupil across multiple subjects
-
Set targets for a whole class by selecting a subject
This flexibility allows schools to plan effectively for the year ahead.
