49. How to Set Up an Intervention for a Pupil in TrackAble
TrackAble includes a simple and effective way to record when a pupil requires additional support, ensuring this information is visible on the Assessment Screen and available within reports. This feature helps teachers monitor pupil needs and quickly identify those receiving extra intervention.
Where to Find the Intervention Feature
-
Go to the pupil’s Assessment Screen.
-
At the top of the page, click the Support Pupil button.
This opens the Intervention panel for the selected pupil.
Understanding the Intervention Scale
All pupils begin with the star positioned in the centre, meaning they are On Track.
You can then move the star left or right depending on the level of support required:
Left Side – Intervention Required
-
1 step left → Light Intervention
-
Used when a pupil needs occasional help, such as extra support in class.
-
-
2 steps left → Deep Intervention
-
Used when a pupil requires more significant support, such as 1:1 assistance.
-
Right Side – Extra Challenge or Adjustment
-
1 step right → Extra Tasks
-
For pupils who may benefit from increased challenge, such as additional homework.
-
-
2 steps right → Different Class / Extended Support Change
-
For pupils needing a substantial change, such as reassignment to another group.
-
TrackAble visually represents the selected intervention level immediately.
Adding Notes to the Intervention
Once you have set the star:
-
Enter further detail in the Notes field.
-
Include relevant information such as support type, reasons, or review dates.
-
-
Click Save.
The intervention and notes will now appear on the pupil’s Assessment Screen.
Using Interventions in Reports
After interventions are set:
-
Go to the Interventions Report to analyse and review pupils who are receiving additional support.
-
This helps identify patterns, plan resources, and track changes over time.
(See Interventions Report for more information.)
