44. How to Set Up Teachers and Their Classes in TrackAble

TrackAble uses a simple but powerful structure to determine what teachers can see and assess. To ensure that teachers have correct access, it’s important to follow the two core principles that govern visibility and access in TrackAble: 1. Assessment Frameworks are attached to Classes 2. Classes are attached to Teachers If a teacher cannot see a class or an assessment framework, it is usually because one of these two links has not been set up. This guide shows you how to check and configure both parts.

Step 1: Attach Assessment Frameworks to Classes

Each class must have the correct assessment frameworks assigned before teachers can access them.

How to check or add frameworks:

  1. Go to Admin > Lists > Classes.

  2. Click Edit next to the class.

  3. In the Assessment Frameworks or Subjects fields:

    • Type the first three letters of the framework name

    • Select it from the list

  4. Click Save.

If a teacher cannot see a framework, this is the first place to check.

Step 2: Assign Classes to Teachers

Teachers will only see classes they have been explicitly allocated.

How to assign or check teacher access:

  1. Go to Admin > Users.

  2. Find the teacher and click Edit.

  3. In the Class Access section:

    • Tick the classes the teacher needs

    • Avoid selecting Toggle All unless truly necessary

  4. Click Save.

Best practice: Assign only the classes a teacher actually teaches.

Troubleshooting Access Issues

If a teacher reports that they cannot see a class or framework, check the following:

✔ Is the class assigned to the teacher?

Go to Admin > Users > Edit.

✔ Is the assessment framework assigned to the class?

Go to Admin > Lists > Classes > Edit.

✔ Has the teacher recently changed classes?

Remove old classes and assign the correct ones.

✔ Is the user profile correct?

Some permissions may restrict access to certain features.
