# 35. How to Change the Order of Levels in an Assessment Framework
## Each assessment framework in TrackAble contains a set of levels that must be arranged in the correct order to ensure accurate progress tracking and reporting. If your levels are not displayed in order—or if you have added a new framework—you can easily rearrange them using drag-and-drop. This guide explains how to reorder levels quickly and correctly.
### **Why Level Order Matters**
The order of levels affects:
- How progress is calculated
- How baselines are set
- How teachers navigate the assessment screen
- How reports display progression
Ensuring levels run from lowest to highest (or earliest to most advanced) is essential for accurate assessment.
### **Step-by-Step: Reordering Levels**
#### **1. Open the Assessment Framework**
1. Go to **Admin \> Assessment Frameworks**.
2. Select the framework you want to update.
#### **2. Go to the Levels Tab**
1. Click the **Levels** tab.
2. You will see a list of all levels in their current order.
#### **3. Drag and Drop Levels into the Correct Order**
- Hover over the **hand icon** next to the level you want to move.
- Click and hold with your mouse.
- Drag the level to the correct position.
- Release to drop it into place.
Repeat this for any levels that are out of sequence.
#### **4. Save the Framework**
Once the levels are in the correct order, click **Save Assessment Framework** (if required for your version of TrackAble).
This ensures the system recalculates progress using the updated level sequence.
### **Important Notes**
- You must repeat this process for **every new assessment framework** you add.
- Level order must remain consistent with how your school assesses pupil progression.
- If teachers report issues with levels appearing in the wrong sequence, check this page first.
