28. How to Change Your Report Settings in TrackAble

TrackAble allows you to customise reporting access and comparison options to suit your school’s needs. These settings determine who can run reports and how they interact with group data.

1. Understanding Report Permissions

Any user can be granted access to the Reporting module through their User Profile permissions.
This permission allows users to run reports across the school, subject to access settings you define.

To enable reporting for a user:

  1. Go to Admin > Users.

  2. Edit the user’s profile.

  3. Enable the Reporting permission.

  4. Save your changes.

2. Using Restricted Reports

If you turn on Restricted Reports, users will only be able to generate reports for:

  • The classes assigned to them

  • The pupils allocated to them in their User Profile

This is useful for:

  • Class teachers

  • TAs

  • Subject leads

  • Staff who should only view data for their own groups

Restricted access ensures data privacy and keeps reporting manageable for staff who do not need whole-school visibility.

3. Allowing a Second Group in the Group Attainment Report

By default, the Group Attainment Report compares:

Your selected group vs. the rest of the school.

If you enable the setting to Allow a Second Group, users can compare:

  • One class vs. another class

  • One year group vs. another year group

  • One custom group vs. another

Example

Instead of comparing Class 1 against all other pupils, you can compare:

Class 1 vs. Class 2

This is particularly helpful for:

  • Interventions

  • Cohort comparisons

  • Curriculum planning

  • Leadership and governance analysis
