26. How to Customise Behaviour Module Settings in TrackAble
The Behaviour Module in TrackAble can be tailored to your school by enabling, disabling, renaming, and reordering fields. This ensures the incident form captures only the information your school requires and displays it in the most useful way for your staff. This guide explains how to configure Behaviour settings and manage fields effectively.
Accessing Behaviour Settings
-
Go to Admin > Settings > Incidents.
-
You will see a list of the standard TrackAble behaviour fields and controls for enabling, disabling, or customising them.
1. Switching Fields On or Off
You can disable any behaviour incident fields your school doesn’t need.
How to switch off a field
-
Click the green/white toggle button.
-
When the option turns white, the field is off and will no longer display on the incident form.
Note:
If data has already been entered into a field you switch off, it will no longer display.
If you switch it back on later, the previously entered data will reappear.
2. Default Emails for Behaviour Administrators
If Default Emails is enabled:
-
Every incident logged will automatically be emailed to all users marked as Behaviour Administrators.
This supports safeguarding workflows and ensures designated staff remain informed.
3. Using the Site Option (Multi-School or Multi-Site)
If your school has more than one site, or is part of a TrackAble Multi-School Hub, you can activate the Site feature.
When switched on:
-
A Site dropdown appears in the incident form.
-
Once a site is selected, TrackAble displays only the locations linked to that site.
This ensures incidents can be logged accurately by location.
4. Additional Focus Areas
The Behaviour form includes three extra focus areas that you can enable and customise.
To enable and customise focus areas:
-
Switch on the additional focus area(s) you wish to use.
-
Go to Admin > Terminology > Incidents to rename them.
-
In the incident form, use Add/Manage to build dropdown lists for those focus areas.
Once configured, these fields become available in Behaviour Reports for deeper incident analysis.
5. Customisable Fields (x12)
There are 12 fully customisable fields available.
To rename these fields:
-
Go to Admin > Terminology > Incidents.
-
Rename the fields according to your school’s requirements.
-
Save your changes.
These fields can be used for any additional behaviour categories or data points your school needs to record.
6. Reordering Behaviour Fields
Once you have enabled, disabled, and renamed the necessary fields:
-
Use drag and drop to rearrange all fields into your preferred order.
-
When you are satisfied, click Save Changes.
This lets you design a Behaviour form that matches your internal workflows and ensures the most important fields appear in the most convenient locations.
Key Notes to Remember
Note 1 – Switching Off Fields
-
Turning a field off hides existing data and prevents new entries.
-
Switching it back on restores visibility of previous data.
Note 2 – Essential Reporting Fields
The following fields are required for TrackAble to generate accurate behaviour reports:
-
Overview
-
Time
-
Location
-
Severity
-
Physical Intervention
If any of these are switched off, you will no longer be able to analyse incidents using those fields.
